Because Systematic™ is an open architecture, you can choose the software interface layer you want.
Mobius™ is an easy to use software interface used to control and monitor
systems of unmanned robotic vehicles using the JAUS protocol. It
includes a robust feature set developed for use in Military, Mining,
Agriculture, Material Handling, Surveillance and many other
applications. From tele-operation to fully autonomous operations,
Mobius™ delivers the right tools.

The user interface software runs on hardware commonly called an Operator Control Unit (OCU ). If you choose to run Mobius™, you can select almost any recent PC as the OCU hardware. For field use, a variety of ruggedized computers are available. For a purpose-built solution, ASI's Mobi™ handheld OCU provides a portable, rugged controller.

Your radio choice will likely depend on your operating situation and environment. We can supply a variety of radio systems with different ranges and bandwidth to fit your needs. If you have a radio system that fits your needs, it can be integrated into the system.

Whatever type of vehicle you want to run, it needs to have some basic intelligence for handling unanticipated situations. ASI's Vulcan package can provide the obstacle detection and avoidance a vehicle needs for safe operation. As with any Systematic™ component, you can use your own detection and avoidance system.

The Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) is the on-board controller of each vehicle. It is responsible for carrying out commands from the OCU and monitoring and reporting the vehicle status back to the OCU. ASI's VCU software has been used to control vehicle ranging from a few pounds to hundreds of tons, and is stable and reliable. The software can be tuned for optimal control of any vehicle type by our engineers, and runs on field-proven hardware designed for autonomous vehicle applications.

The payloads you choose for your system are what does the bulk of the application specific work. You can use almost anything that can be carried on a vehicle and integrate it right back to the software interface.

The key part of the system is the vehicle. It does the moving and heavy lifting to get your payloads where you need them, so it's vitally important that it be up to the task. ASI offers a variety of tested platform vehicles to fit different needs. Our Chaos™ robot, for example, is a small robot with the ability to go almost anywhere, and that can still shoulder payloads over one hundred pounds. If you have a vehicle especially suited for the tasks you want to perform, it can be integrated into the system.
