UVIS Robots to be Deployed to Iraq
Logan, UT — July 21, 2004 — Autonomous Solutions Inc. has developed a small, remotely controlled robot that allows soldiers and security personnel to inspect vehicles at checkpoints or in parking lots from a safe distance. The robot, called UVIS for Under Vehicle Inspection System, will be deployed to Iraq by TARDEC, where it will be used to search for car bombs and contraband. UVIS will enable soldiers to inspect vehicles more safely than the conventional mirrors on poles, while retaining portability and low setup time. It also makes inspections times shorter.

Autonomous Solutions Inc. Participates in DARPA Grand Challenge
LOGAN, UT — March 14, 2004 — Autonomous Solutions Inc. (ASI) partnered with the University of Florida’s Center for Intelligent Machines and Robotics (CIMAR) to build a vehicle to compete in the DARPA Grand Challenge, a driverless race for a one million dollar prize. ASI and CIMAR competed as Team CIMAR, and were selected from a field of eighty-six entries to be one of twenty-five contestants. After a week of testing in California, only 15 teams qualified to compete in the final phase on March 13, 2004.
