Law Enforcement PDF Print E-mail
Sometimes law enforcement personnel need to extend their vision and reach into unknown areas. This could be to see what's there or to deal with suspected explosive devices or hazardous substances. Sending in a remotely operated robot keeps officers out of harm's way.

Autonomous Solutions makes robots in a variety of sizes and configurations. These include Chaos, a 100lb ultra-mobile robot; Spector, a sub-10lb inspection robot; Bobcat excavators, which can dismantle a car. Several more robots are under development, including Swabby, which is designed to take samples and test surfaces for substances.

Whatever your needs and wants, chances are we have a robot that fits them.

What would you do with a robot in law enforcement?

  • Inspection of hazardous areas
  • Dealing with barricaded suspects
  • Reconnaissance in tunnels and storm drains
  • Searching for criminals and lost persons
  • Acting as a hilltop repeater
  • Site security
  • Acting as hostile element in training
  • Delivery of small items (telephones, food, etc.)
  • Passive remote communication (where the target person is not required to cooperate by using a telephone)
  • Video, audio surveillance
  • Retrieval of small objects
  • Creating a diversion
  • Providing zone defenses, alerting units when suspects are moving
  • Identification of subjects and weapons
  • Valve manipulation
  • Retrieving injured officer or hostage from hostile environment
Our ultra-mobile Chaos robot can handle almost any terrain, including curbs, rough dirt, high grass, mud, snow, rubble, and sand. It also does well indoors on stairs, rugs/newspapers, wires/cables, and crawlspaces. Chaos can be fitted with a manipulator arm for performing a wide variety of tasks.

The portable Mobi OCU can act as a tactical handheld viewfinder and controller that can be used in sunlight and dimmed for discrete night use. It can also be plugged into large external displays at a command post.

The Mobius software interface simplifies and automates control of multiple robots. It also shortens learning time, and makes control intuitive.
